The vertical turning and machining center with a portal design. Together with the foundation, the two columns and the crossrail or cross beam form a closed frame which provides for a high degree of stiffness and accuracy. The option of a moveable rotary table in addition to a high-efficiency drilling and milling unit even allows the production of complex workpieces requiring offset machining. A very wide range of tool holders and spindle units ensure the efficient machining of different workpieces. The machining units are interchanged according to the Masterhead concept. Highly developed change systems for machining units and tools are available depending on the requirements.
